Daniel Cugola is a director and cinematographer based in Sydney, Australia. He’s been working in the industry for over eight years.

Daniel received an Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media from the Academy of Film, Theatre and Television (AFTT) in 2019, as well as a Bachelor of Creative Arts from JMC Academy in 2021. Throughout his career, Daniel has worked with companies such as Sky News, Warner Brothers and Fremantle. An avid lover of film and cinema, Daniel enjoys the whole creative process from start to finish, and is multi-skilled in the filmmaking process, having also been a producer, assistant director and editor.

Daniel co-hosted and ran a podcast titled “The Pre-Production Meeting” with Josh Urquhart and Austin Scott, where they recorded more than 70 episodes.

Over the past eight years, Daniel has shot and directed a variety of content, from corporate videos, real estate and events to films, music videos and TVC’s.

Daniel likes to create work with the goal of staying with the viewer long after they have finished watching. He aims to create visceral stories that show the truth of humanity, and often caters towards darker psychological thriller and drama films with his narrative work, but also enjoys levity in black comedies.
